Mediterranean Houses can be seen as the pioneer of housing projects that will take place in the region in the near future. The project consists of a residential structure consisting of a single block, following the geometry of the land, and shops that front the road on the ground floor and follow the road track. The building, consisting of residential and commercial volumes, sits on the land in a linear manner in the north-south direction. Residential facades designed with a modular planning approach describe the “intermediate spaces” located between the “inside” and “outside” of the building.
Spaces – volumes are arranged in natural balances from outside to inside, with reference to the traditional Mediterranean-Aegean architecture.
The row of open, semi-closed and closed spaces gives the opportunity to experience all the characteristics of the four seasons of the local climate.
Wooden panels added to the modular main facade system, as a secondary wall, protect the residences on the west facade from sunlight and provide alternative use opportunities for residents
